TikTok users are freaking out over the creepy and ominous messages that appear when you write a comment with a variation of ‘riririri’ in it and then translate it.
User @whoaanellyy shared her horror over the discovery in a viral video that has been viewed more than 8.8 million times — prompting thousands of TikTokers to try it out for themselves.
‘This is the scariest thing I’ve ever seen on TikTok,’ she insisted. ‘If you comment ‘riririri’ [with] whatever spaces and then translate the comment, it says really cryptic, scary s**t. And why is no one talking about this? It’s so scary.’

Many people who translated the comments were understandably creeped out by the eerie messages, although one person thought they were ‘poetic.’
‘Omg I’m translating people’s comments and I’m actually spooked,’ one person wrote, while another asked: ”Umm does anyone else feel like the owners of TikTok are being held captive? No? OK.’
