A prisoner fractured a man’s jaw and knocked his teeth out in a violent 20 second attack.
Paul Robinson was serving a sentence at HMP Doncaster when he attacked a fellow inmate as he sat in his cell.
Violent Robinson took the man by surprise on October 16 2020 when he burst into his cell and assaulted him.
Prosecutor Stephen Littlewood told Sheffield Crown Court on Thursday that the man suffered fractures to his left eye and jaw and lost teeth during the attack.

He said: “The victim had his back to the door and felt a beating to his head. As soon as the attack stopped the defendant walked out of the cell.
“CCTV showed he was in the cell for 20 seconds. Prison officers came and the victim was taken to hospital where he remained. He had to have a metal plate inserted into his jaw.”
In a victim personal statement read out to the court, the man said he had suffered nightmares and flashbacks since the attack and said he “did not know” why Robinson did it.

He added: “I’m scared to see him again.”
It was the second attack Robinson had carried out in a custody setting in a year.
On February 4 2020, Robinson called an inmate to his cell and attacked him over money he was owed.
He caused cuts and bruises to the man as he punched him three times.
Mr Littlewood told the court Robinson already had a previous conviction for assault.

Mitigating, Edward Moss said that the 26-year-old is now showing signs of maturity – the first of which came when he showed a desire to end his sentence “as soon as possible.”
He said: “His father and sister have supported him and he is hoping with their support he will be able to rekindle his relationship with his son.”
Her Honour Judge Rachael Harrison said she considered Robinson to be “dangerous” and said he had a “concerning record of criminal convictions.”
As she jailed him for a total of 31 months for two counts of wounding, the judge told him: “You will use violence when it strikes you – extreme violence at that. You have a pattern of violent behaviour recorded against you. If it was open to me to find you dangerous, I would.”
